Brad Nesbitt

Experienced ecologist and researcher skilled in threatened species management, feral animal control,
biodiversity and cultural heritage management.
Extensive experience in wildlife research and monitoring projects including freshwater and marine turtles,
threatened beach nesting shorebirds, wedge tailed shearwaters, dingoes, black tailed antechinus; and feral
pigs, horses, goats, dogs, rodents and foxes.
A specialist in pest species management for the NSW NPWS for many years addressing impacts of
introduced animals and plants on native wildlife and agriculture.
Adjunct Research Fellow in the School of Environmental and Rural Science at University of New England
and the Academic Coordinator for the International Study Abroad program: Australian Wildlife, Environment
and Conservation.
Worked with Aboriginal landowners throughout Australia including Kimberley (WA), Central Australia, and
NSW developing cooperative management partnerships and the incorporation of indigenous ecological
knowledge into conservation management.
 Conservation Canines certified scent detection dog handler.

Lynn Baker

Experienced ecologist and researcher with extensive experience in biodiversity conservation, ecological fire
and cross-cultural land management across Australia. Experienced in working in the government and non-government sectors.
Specialising in the use of scent detection dogs for threatened species research, conservation and monitoring
programs. Experienced in designing survey programs, training and handling conservation scent detection
dogs for threatened species programs including eastern bristlebird, endangered coastal emu population,
koala, black-tailed and silver-headed antechinus, Bell’s turtle and feral cat. Presented at conferences on the use of conservation detection dogs for threatened species programs.

Extensive experience in working with regional partnerships to design and implement threatened species
and regional biodiversity conservation programs. Worked with Aboriginal communities to combine
traditional ecological and scientific knowledge to conserve threatened species and implement culturally
appropriate land management throughout Australia including Central Australia, Cape York (Qld) and NSW.

Experienced conservation scent detection dog trainer and handler for Canines for Wildlife. Trained and handled scent detection dogs for research surveys of Silver-headed antechinus, Koala and Bells river turtle nest detection in 2018-2019.

TAFE certified Statement of Attainment in Dog Training and Behaviour.

Bunya

A working line English springer spaniel, Bunya is a certified detection dog for bell’s turtle nest, and
black-tailed antechinus scent detection. He is also working on invasive species detection including feral cat and fox.

A working line Border collie, Fenrir is specialising on invasive species detection focusing on feral cats. He is currently working on American foul brood detection, AFB is a disease found in European honey bee hives

A working line English springer spaniel, Ash is a certified Koala scent detection dog, he is also working on Silver-headed antechinus and Black-tailed antechinus scent detection.
